Adelaide Festival Centre, GGA, AKA and Kenny Wax Family Entertainment presents WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT

Festival Centre

WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT, the perfect theatrical outing for any young family will arrive at the Adelaide Festival Centre in ideal timing for April school holiday adventures.

Live on stage in AFCT’s Dunstan Playhouse from 27 to 29 April this UK production will be presented for the first time in Adelaide, direct from a smash-hit international tour and sold out seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne and at the Sydney Opera House.

The show features music, laughter, songs, rhythms, rhymes and repetitions; and with puppetry, paints, water and mud, not to mention a bear but -we’re not scared!

SALLY COOKSON’s hugely inventive production set to BENJI BOWER’s quirky musical score is a mischievous celebration of play, utilising everyday objects and materials, to capture the imagination and catapult young audiences into the world of MICHAEL ROSEN and illustrator HELEN OXENBURY‘s much loved picture book.

Join the show’s intrepid family of adventurers and their musical dog through the swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud, in search of a bear. Expect plenty of fun-filled interaction and a few surprises along the way.

MICHAEL ROSEN says of the live theatre show: ''This production of WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT takes everyone on the journey - not under, not over, oh no - through it! - in a funny, exuberant and loving way. It's a show full of laughter, music, silliness and thrills that I promise you will excite and delight all young children. This is a must-go show."

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO and Artistic Director Douglas Gautier says, “ Adelaide Festival Centre is committed to presenting the best live performance for children and WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT certainly fits the bill, the performances are part of Festival Centre’s Something on Saturday’s 40th Anniversary celebratory program, don’t miss Michael Rosen’s family favourite take to life live on stage, “we’re not scared””.
