The Adelaide Repertory Theatre is the oldest continuous surviving amateur theatre company in the Southern Hemisphere. The Rep was founded in 1908 by students of the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Notable associations with the theatre include Max Afford, Keith Michell, Jean Roberts, Ron Haddrick, Ruby Litchfield, Mimi Mattin, Iris Hart and Margery Irving.
