This ledger records performances at the Theatre Royal from 1879 – 1901. The pages are divided into five columns with the headings Date, Star and Piece, Takings, Opposition and Weather and Remarks.
The front cover bears the name of James Allison, who was leased the theatre in partnership with Samuel Lazar from 1873, and became sole lessee from 1876, and then once again in partnership with George Rignold from 1883. With Rignold, he also managed the Opera House in Melbourne and opened Her Majesty’s Theatre in Sydney.
