Troy-Anthony Baylis is a descendant of the Jawoyn people from Australia’s Northern Territory, based in South Australia.
Baylis is a visual and performance artist, who works across mediums often using word art in textiles. His practice explores meaning through language and symbolism, Aboriginality, sexuality, and queer identity. His artwork is held in public and private collections both nationally and internationally. In addition to his work as an artist, Baylis is recognised for his contribution to community and cultural development through various roles as a curator, teacher, arts worker and activist.
