Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation is proud to support Children's Artspace and its latest exhibition Who Are We?, a powerful visual representation of young First Nations people, their identities and individual journeys.
Led by proud Adnyamathanha, Narungga, Wangkangurru Yarluyandi sibling-duo Iteka Ukarla Sanderson-Bromley and Temaana Yundu Sanderson-Bromley, the exhibition showcases forty-six artists’ exploration of who they are as young South Australian Aboriginal people today.
Through a series of workshops at the South Australian Aboriginal Training Academy, Mark Oliphant College, and Le Fevre High School, young people explored their identities and personal stories through silk, canvas and ceramic mediums, resulting in a collection of artwork that reflects their unique perspectives and experiences.
Who Are We? is a celebration of young First Nations voices and a testament to the power of art to inspire and connect. It offers a platform for these young voices to be heard and celebrated, fostering pride and respect for their heritage.
Who Are We? is on now in the Children's Artspace, open Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm, until the 12 October 2024 (free entry).
Children’s Artspace is a free art gallery that showcases original artwork by, with, and for young people.
