Her Majesty’s Theatre, built in 1913, is Adelaide’s oldest continually operating performance venue and the last surviving example of the Tivoli chain of theatres in Australia.
The heritage-listed signature wall was part of the theatre’s original construction and during the theatre’s redevelopment in 2020 it was painstakingly taken apart brick by brick and carefully re-built piece by piece, photographed and documented.
The iconic 'signature wall' displays autographs of stage legends and screen stars, from Spike Milligan, Whoopi Goldberg, Debbie Reynolds, Archie Roach, Barry Humphries and most recently Henry Winkler and Missy Higgins.
Now relocated behind the stage at the theatre, the signing tradition continues, with performers once again adding their epigrams – by invitation only.
