‘Watching [Harding] perform is to be touched by something deeply human and oddly universal’ – The Guardian ★★★★
‘Aldous Harding is truly one of a kind’ – NME ★★★★
‘She is totally original… compelling’ – stuff.co.nz
Heralded as one of Aotearoa’s greatest musical exports, acclaimed singer and songwriter Aldous Harding will return to Australia to perform an intimate live show at Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on Tuesday 18 October, in addition to appearances in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Harding’s Adelaide performance is presented by Adelaide Festival Centre as part of the Music at the Maj concert series, bringing a unique selection of artists to showcase the new top-notch facilities of Adelaide’s iconic theatre which recently added the national Master Builder Association’s (MBA) National Commercial/Industrial Construction Award ($50 million to $100 million) to its lengthy list of accolades since reopening in June 2020. Also featured in the series and on sale now is Grammy Award-winning R&B artist and songwriter Leon Bridges.
South Australian fans can access the Pre-sale on Monday 23 May (11am Australian Central Standard Time). General Public tickets will then go on sale Wednesday 25 May (11am ACST).
Harding’s tour – her first live dates in Australia since March 2020 – comes in celebration of her acclaimed fourth studio album Warm Chris, released March 25 via 4AD/Remote Control. Beginning in the United States in June and July, the singer will also perform at European and UK festivals before making her way to Australia in Spring.
Harding will be joined at all shows by Cardiff multi-instrumentalist and critically acclaimed solo artist H. Hawkline.
Acclaimed by critics worldwide, the first taste of Warm Chris came in the form of the singles ‘Lawn’ and ‘Fever’, with latest single ‘Tick Tock’. Recorded in Monmouth, Wales, it marks her third collaboration with producer John Parish, the 10-track disc also including contributions from H. Hawkline, Seb Rochford, Gavin Fitzjohn, John and Hopey Parish and Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods). Harding’s partnership with Parish first began five years ago, starting with 2017’s unforgettable Party, and 2019’s Designer.
With glowing reviews from media such as NPR, Double J, The New Yorker and Pitchfork (who gave it 8.2/10 in the Best New Music review), Harding’s latest album sees the skilful, acrobatic singer proudly moving into sunnier territory, delivering one of her finest works to date:
‘A supremely singular talent’ – Clash 9/10
‘As much a great musician as she is an illusionist who dazzles the listener’ – DIY ★★★★
‘… A dazzling performance. Expect the ovations for her to echo down the years’ – MOJO Album of the Month ★★★★
Harding’s truly remarkable stage presence and singular songs have captivated audiences across the globe. Don’t miss her when she performs live on stage this October!
