Former Member of South Australia’s Cabinet, businessperson and Chair of Cancer Council SA, the Hon Karlene Maywald has today been announced as the new Chair of Adelaide Festival Centre Trust taking over from the Hon Hieu Van Le AC.
The Hon Karlene Maywald is a highly accomplished business leader and former Member of South Australia’s Parliament for the seat of Chaffey from 1997 to 2010. During her time in Cabinet, she held various portfolios including Water Security, River Murray, Small Business, Regional Development, Science and Information Economy and Consumer Affairs.
Karlene has served on several ministerial councils including the Murray Darling Basin Ministerial Council, the Regional Development Ministerial Council, the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council and the Primary Industries Ministerial Council.
In addition, Karlene holds a number of positions which include, Chair of Cancer Council SA and Chair of the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management.
South Australian Living Artists Festival Chair, Alexandrea Cannon OAM, has also been appointed as a board member of Adelaide Festival Centre Trust.
