Acclaimed composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, William Barton will partner with cello and piano duo, Two Deep Breaths in a mesmerising musical performance at Space Theatre next month.
Audiences will be whisked away by the delicately blended sounds of the digeridoo, cello, piano and effects in a special concert for one night only on December 1, with a special guest appearance and duet from Aunty Delmae Barton.
The show will feature a selection of works based on the album Sleeping Orchards (2019) by Two Deep Breaths and reflects the past, present, and future in a unique musical performance.
William Barton is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading didgeridoo players and composers. For two decades, he has forged a peerless profile as a performer and composer in the classical musical world, from the Philharmonic Orchestras of London and Berlin to historic events at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day 2019, Anzac Cove, and the Beijing Olympics. With his prodigious musicality and the quiet conviction of his Kalkadunga heritage, he has vastly expanded the horizons of the didgeridoo — and the culture and landscape that it represents. William Barton is also celebrated on Adelaide Festival Centre’s Walk of Fame, his name featuring on the star-studded walkway overlooking the River Torrens.
Under the moniker of Two Deep Breaths, Richard Vaudrey (Cello) and Ashley Hribar (Piano) form a formidable creative partnership. With international performance careers and a shared versatility in music making, Two Deep Breaths have created a fresh new classical ambient style, versatile in its appeal.
