Adelaide Guitar Festival’s Winter Warm Up celebrates 10 years of the Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra.
Each year, more than 40 guitarists – young and a little less young – come together under the charismatic direction of Dr Paul Svoboda in stunning symphony. Since their first breathtaking performance in 2014, Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra has been a mainstay of the festival program, consisting of a week of intensive skills development and ensemble work and culminating in a glorious concert.
In this extraordinary 10th anniversary warm-up event, they are joined on stage by special guests including tutor and guitar virtuoso Giuseppe Zangari in a superb duo performance with acclaimed concert flautist Jane Rutter.
Also featuring the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble performing the world premiere of Movin’ Right Along by Associate Professor, Dr Carl Crossin OAM.
This concert will warm hearts and cheer souls in the lead up to the Adelaide Guitar Festival, which runs September 12-29.
“A Jane Rutter speciality is sparkling flute playing. Her strength lies in a dexterous brilliance, which scoffs at the need to breathe. She has a bright clear tone and excels in moments of whimsical and dancing precision."
